Welcome to Summit Students!

Summit Students is the youth ministry at Summit Church for students in 6th-12th grade. Here, we hang out, make new friends, and develop our relationship with God and each other through messages, small group time, and serving one another and our community.

Curriculum – The Way of Jesus

What does it really mean to follow Jesus? It’s not that we don’t want to become like Jesus, or that we aren’t trying to become like Jesus.
It often is as simple as that we don’t know HOW to become like Jesus. We need a pathway to formation in today’s world. As we move through the season of the Lent, the 40 days and 7 Sundays before Easter, we will explore what it means to practice the way of Jesus, learning together what it means to be with Jesus, become like him, and do as he did. We will be following along with the current sermon series using John Mark Comer’s book, Practicing the Way of Jesus. Following the way of Jesus will transform our lives and hearts, helping us find meaning and purpose as we seek to be the presence of Jesus Christ in the world. You can find more information about this at www.practicingtheway.org.

Youth Director

Kelsey Scott has been attending Summit Church since her freshman year at Fort Lewis College in 2015. She was involved in our Rooted College Ministry while at the Fort, and then was connected with volunteering in our youth group until she graduated in 2019. Kelsey has been a part of the staff at Summit since 2021 and has a passion for helping teens grow their faith and their friendships. She is married to Nathan Scott, and they have one wonderful daughter. Nathan helps lead worship from time to time so you might recognize him as well. In her free time she likes to spend time with her family, ski, and paint!
