Fifty years ago Mary Downey chaired a small bazaar to make money for UMCOR, a project that has grown into a community event of sharing: handmade ornaments by Joni Bender and Elaine Spence, hats by Bev Tomberlin, quilts by Beth Emrich and quilted items by Mary Jane Hood and family. Vendors added Pendleton coats, cards and art work, jewelry and quilted placemats. Diane Higgins opened up Trash and Treasures, a recycler’s dream and the morning was topped off with baked goods for Thanksgiving sharing.
But really, the heart of the Bazaar is social. As my husband said: “There’s a lot more going on than selling stuff.”

Come celebrate our 50th Annual Bazaar with us! Date: Saturday, November 23, 2024. Time: 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Where: At Summit Church. Plan to shop for Thanksgiving desserts and Christmas gifts. There will be plenty to choose from! Also find a place for a plant or two in your home, or to gift to someone. Enjoy the day of shopping!
We need donated baked goods for our bake sale: cakes, pies, cookies, even jams. Start baking now! Plan to bring a plant or two for the plant table. We will be accepting donations on Friday, November 22, 2024. If you have a donation for Trash to Treasures that you can’t bring on Friday, November 22, please call Diane at 970-903-8959.
See you on Saturday, November 23, 2024!
